  In the last issue, we talked about how the positioning can make the audio equipment show better sound quality. Now let's put a few "arrays" into practice:

  317 ratio method

  Divide the length of the room into three equal parts (three), place the horns at one-third of the length (one), and place the horns at a distance of 0.7 times the length of two-thirds of the room (seven). The speaker preferably has a slight inward projection angle, but no inward projection is acceptable, and the listening position should not be placed against the rear wall.

  Effect: This method is used in a space with a large size and a uniform ratio (such as 1:1.25:1.6 or 1:1.6:2.5), and a balanced sound and a wide and deep sound field can be obtained.

  three-three-one ratio

  Divide the length of the room into three equal parts (three) and the width into three equal parts (three), and place the horn at the intersection of the first equal parts of the length and width (one). The speakers can have a slight inward projection angle, or even do not need to project inward, and the listening position should not be placed against the rear wall.

  Effect: This method is also used for larger and evenly proportioned spaces. The only difference between it and the 317 ratio method is that the interval between the two speakers is narrower. This method can also get a balanced sound and a wide and deep sound field.

  Pendulum method

  Place the speakers between one-third and one-half the length of the room, and then place the two speakers as close to the side walls as possible (if the room is very wide, they do not need to be close to the side walls). The inward projection angle of the two speakers should be greater than 45 degree. The listening position should be about 0.5m-1m after the intersection of the projection angle cross line.

  Effect: This method is specially designed to deal with the shortcomings of too sharp treble, too thin midrange and insufficient bass.

  equilateral triangle method

  The first condition is that the speaker should be away from the rear wall (at least 1 meter above) and the side wall (at least 0.5 meters above). The second condition is to draw an equilateral triangle between the two speakers and the listening position. The third condition is that the inward projection angles of the two speakers are also 45 degrees or more. The fourth condition is that this equilateral triangle can be big or small. When the room is small and the power of the rear stage is not large, the equilateral triangle is smaller; when the room is large and the power of the rear stage is large, the equilateral triangle is drawn larger.

  Effect: Its advantage is that it can reduce the excessive interference of the reflected sound from the four walls to the direct sound of the speaker, and obtain a good sense of positioning and a wide and deep sound field. This is the way to hear the most, most direct, and clearest details.
