Professional stage sound is very important for performances, especially the sound in professional stage sound. The quality of the sound effect will also affect the actual effect of the stage performance. As one of the major categories of professional audio equipment, audio is simple on the surface, but the internal structure is not simple. According to the structure of internal speakers, audio can be divided into full-frequency speakers and cross-frequency audio.

  Full-range speakers

What is a full-frequency speaker? A full-frequency speaker is a speaker made of only one full-frequency speaker, with only one speaker, and a crossover speaker uses a frequency divider to separate the high, middle and low frequencies. The speakers range from 2 to 1. N varies.

In fact, it is impossible for one speaker to cover all frequency bands. Generally speaking, full frequency is actually broadband. The sound range that the human ear can hear is 20~20KHz, so the sound frequency is usually divided into three frequency bands: high, medium and low. The low-end of the full-frequency speaker can generally reproduce the sound better within 150-15KHz, and the distortion beyond this range is large; the mid-range generally has better performance within 80-18KHz, and the full-power distortion is > 5%; the high-end generally requires at least Covering 45-20KHz, full power distortion > 2%. The advantage of full-range audio is that it uses a point sound source, so the phase is accurate, the timbre of each frequency band tends to be consistent, and it is easier to bring a good sound field and level. The disadvantage is that the extension at both ends of the high and low frequencies is relatively limited, and the design and performance of each frequency band are constrained.

  Crossover speakers

The multiple speakers of the crossover audio are processed separately at different frequencies. The advantage is that each frequency band is sounded by an independent unit, so each unit can work in the best state, and the extension of high and low frequencies is easier to do better. The disadvantage is that due to the different positions of the speakers, there is a difference in timbre and phase between the units, and the crossover network introduces new distortion to the system. The sound field, image resolution, separation, and layers are more easily affected, and the timbre may deviate. The more frequency divisions, the higher the manufacturing process requirements of speakers.

Therefore, the sound performance of full-range speakers is more natural and suitable for listening to human voices. The crossover speakers perform well in high and low extension, and can transmit sound effects with clear layers and rich sense of detail. Both types of speakers have their own advantages and disadvantages, and it is not easy to judge which is better. Different occasions focus on different sound effects, and the types of speakers required are different, which must be judged according to the actual situation.
